A good website hosting provider makes it easy for you to set up and access your email account on any device or platform.
Here’s how to set up and access email accounts on a variety of platforms and devices.
Overview
You will need to refer back to the following details when adding your email account on a device:
- Username: Your email address (e.g. jane@domain.co.za)
- Password: Provided by Peachweb
- Incoming server: mail.domain.co.za
- Ports: IMAP 993 / POP3 995
- Outgoing server: smtp.domain.co.za (port 465)
- SSL/TLS: On
Remember to replace “domain.co.za” in these instructions with the domain of your website.
IMAP is generally recommended since it saves space on your device by storing emails in the cloud, while POP3 downloads all emails to your device. The setup process is similar, and you can choose your preferred method.

Mailbox versus Alias
An email address looks like name@domain.co.za, where “name” is any chosen value and “domain” is your website’s name.
Email mailboxes have dedicated cloud storage and enable you to send or receive emails. Individual people in an organization are often assigned a mailbox account, for example jane@domain.co.za.
Email aliases do not have a mailbox; they instead redirect or forward emails to specified email mailboxes. Aliases are useful for grouping functions with an easily recognizable name for both you and your customers. For example, the alias sales@domain.co.za could forward to the mailboxes of sales team members, which enables the categorization of sales inquiries and sales team individuals with the ability to respond directly.
